Jesenice Lake sits near Lake Bled in northwest Slovenia and is known for unusually large trout — rainbows and lacustrine brown trout (jezerska). A change of pace from karst rivers: stillwater tactics, heavier rods, and fish that pull hard.
Local fishing culture here goes back decades (club roots to 1953). Conditions are strong across much of the April–October season when we guide half or full days with lunch and flies.
Pair it with alpine river days on Soča, Idrijca, or Savinja if you’re planning a Slovenia loop.
